Welding flange
Welding flange is a very common flange, which is usually used under high pressure or some extreme environment. So this requires welding flange has very good performance, so as to ensure the reliability of the pipeline. The metal near the flange joint will produce some turbulence and corrosion, which needs to be avoided in the application of welding flange. And in the process of construction, the size of welding flange must match the size of connecting pipe, otherwise it is easy to cause loss and waste.
Sliding flange
The sliding flange is connected to the pipe or fitting by two fillet welds, one for internal use. One for external use of flange cavity. The hole size of the sliding flange is larger than the outer diameter of the connecting pipe. Because the pipe must slide in the flange by fillet welding to connect. Sliding flange is also defined as “hub flange”. Because of its slim and compact shape, it is easy to identify. In the long run, flanged connections made of sliding flanges are more vulnerable than welded ones (under similar service conditions). The welded flange has a tapered hub, which does not exist in the sleeve welded flange, and the mechanical stress between the pipe and the flange can be more evenly distributed.
Threaded flange
Threaded flange connects the wire to the pipe without seam welding on the flange (in some cases, the use of small welds can improve the connection strength). The larger sizes of threaded flanges are 4 inches and have different pressure classes. However, they are mainly used for small pipes in low pressure and low temperature applications. Threaded flanges are usually used in places with special requirements, such as gas stations and factories.
Blind flange
Blind flange is very different from all flange types seen above. The flange has no central hole, which can seal the pipeline valve and prevent fluid flow. Due to the system pressure and the required bolt connection force, the blind flange will certainly bear greater mechanical stress. The blind flange can be easily installed in the pipeline and easily removed.
